It was all worth it and better when we got back to the messy apt (see cartoon below for an example), I checked the mail to see this little beauty in there with:

What a perfect ending to the night. We celebrated at 10:30 pm with some freshly baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and a cold glass of milk.

Were they slice and bakes? If not, I'm VERY impressed. Yay for the tax credit! I'm sure we'll end up having to pay it back some way or another, but for now, it's sweet!
Don't be deceived... I had a package of choc chip cookie mix, and then added oatmeal to it. But it was the first time I've used my mixer in I don't know how long.
