pretty 'new' filing cabinet

T and I have been wanting to get a filing cabinet since we got settled in our house last year to store all our important bills, house things, bills, Gibson stuff, bills, etc.  When we bought the new desk last fall at the PB outlet [for a great deal, I might add], I saw a cute little filing cabinet that was the same color and a [pretty] good deal, but there was a huge nick in the drawer and T was not cool with that.  So we decided to keep looking.

It's now the end of May and we still haven't found anything worth it.  Office Depot had one, but it was way to expensive to be so cheap looking, and the PB ones are just way to much moolah.  We checked out Craigslist to see if there were any potential-looking ones, and we got very lucky!  We picked it up a few weeks ago, and actually finished painting and re-doing the hardware all in one day!  Pretty good for us (we usually start a project, and then finish it months later, see evidence of this here).

I just love how it turned out, and now I have a little more space to store things, now that I'm working from home in my new job!

Here are the befores.....

[sorry for the blurriness... it's hard to take photos at night with a carport light.]

And the afters!

We are very pleased with how it turned out!  We got our cute knobs from anthropologie, and spray painted the card holders that were already on it, and then just moved the placement around.  T had the great idea of putting the word for 'files' in different languages, so the top drawer is French, and the bottom Italian.

Stay tuned for our office revamp in the next few weeks [or so].

it's really already summer

I can't believe it... really.  I apologize for the tardiness of this post, but we were kickin' it with the Lott's down in Shreveport for Memorial weekend, so I didn't get to work on June desktop over the weekend.  I hope y'all are all still enjoying these! Sister asks for it on the 1st of every month. :)

You can read about our fun weekend over at Margie's blog, but I thought I'd share a few from the weekend as well.

Saturday, Aaron and T had a cannonball fest.  This is how it went down.

Nice splash boys!!

T was not happy that he wasn't as high or higher than Aaron, so they did round 2.

Well, you still didn't get it, T... :(
At this point he was convinced that he was jumping BEFORE Aaron, making him fall quicker.  So they discussed and counted and jumped on the same count.

Fair chance.... And????????

Sorry,T!  He was done, Aaron just has bigger ups, and T was ok with it [I guess].

Margie and I just chilled on the side [snapping photos]

and admired this beauty [and missed sweet Gib].

And as you might have read on her blog, we attended a fake football match played by the AFL Battlewings that was highly entertaining.  Margie was encouraged to try out for the Fly Girls.  The moment of the night was when the Fly Girls came out and threw t-shirts into the stands... well they made it down to our end, Dudley stood up, and BOOM, right into his hands.  It was destiny, but he gave it to the boy in front of us who was jumping up and down wanting that shirt so bad.  I bet he is wearing it at this very moment.  You made his whole life T, I'm so proud.

I also wanted to share that they took us to Bistro Byronz and I ate the most delicious burger I've ever had in my life.  It was a turkey burger stuff with gruyere cheese [and topped with other delicious condiments], and served with some awesome sweet potato fries.

I hope you stuck with me through that long post because now you can see the June desktop!
